Two years ago, while looking through pinterest I saw a picture of two wing back chairs covered in a black and white chevron fabric. For months I had that picture stuck in my head. I have always been crafty, thanks to my very very crafty mom, but never considered a project such as recovering a chair. That just seemed wayyyy out of my wheel house.
While driving through neighborhood garage sales, I immediately pulled over to one house. I spotted two wingback chairs in perfect condition! My mind went racing back to those chevron chairs on pinterest. Just my luck, the owners were old family friends so I got a great deal on the chairs! I sweet talked my mom into taking on this project, and a couple months later I had two beautiful chevron wingback chairs of my own.
That is how all this started. Now, with a vintage etsy shop and furniture refinishing business, I started this blog to document my crafty projects.
Me and my mom are preparing for the upcoming Dallas Flea. They hold this flea three times a year, and its an indoor market for local artists. The last time I went they had a little bit of everything, art, jewelry, vintage clothes, and such. This is the first official day for Fancy Schmancy Furniture (our furniture refinishing business) and I just hope everything goes great. Even if we only sell one or two things I think it will be a success.
One item I'm really excited about is this great french provincial night stand I bought at an estate sale. When I bought it, it was done in a shaby chich design, I decided to modernize it a bit. I painted it bright white then added gold polka dots on the top to give it some fun.
I bought the gold polka dots from etsy seller Walls Need Love. They are super easy to use, just stick and peel.
I'm still practicing taking good pictures, so bare with me on the quality.
I'm a huge fan of provincial furniture. Anytime I see a piece for sale at an estate sale its hard to to snatch it up quickly. You can paint it pretty much any color, my favorites are the bright pieces that immediately bring attention to it
My mom is not a fan of green, so I don't get many chances to paint furniture green, but I love this piece.
